Artist Statement

My photographs are a synthesis of my personal feelings, vision and experiences. The lines, tonalities and

colors that my subjects possess inspire me. The essence of my work is to lift the human spirit. I see the world

much like Michelangelo saw a block of marble. “In every block of marble I see a statue as plain as though it

stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action. I have only to hew away the rough walls that

imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the others eyes as mine see it.”

My passion for creating my photographs runs deep to the core of who I am; it is food for my soul. “If a day

goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential

to my existence, as though I have forgotten to wake up”......... Richard Avedon
